Grove Estate has a strong history with this difficult variety, this one made by the highly skilled Bryan Martin at Clonakilla. It has a savoury, smoky-oak, raspberry, cherry, violet and blueberry bouquet that is complex and charming. The aromatics and finesse are reminiscent of a pinot noir, although the palate is more structural with a sheen of firm but gentle tannins. Will drink well for at least eight years.
